Welcome to Family Rhythms

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, serving children and families from throughout Clark County. Our teachers are trained professionals who come from various backgrounds but are united by the passion of building community in the Vancouver area.

Rebecca is Family Rhythm's founding director. She is an early childhood educator, Music Together® certified teacher, and Postitive Discipline trainer. She has five children who are all Music Together babies! When she isn't teaching, you'll be sure to find her hiking, drinking coffee, or listening to live music. She is passionate about parent education, creating meaningful experiences for families, and building community bonds through music. She deeply believes in Family Rhythm's mission: Building a vibrant community by empowering families to create strong bonds, fostering joy-filled creativity, and cultivating meaningful connections with others.

Amy has been involved in music in one way or another for as long as she can remember! She has put her vocal training to use as a live performer in a number of ways, including participating in musical theatre productions, choirs, and at her church. Amy was a preschool teacher and directed children’s musical theatre productions before earning her masters degree in the field of psychology. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a certified Behavior Analyst, having worked with children with special needs for the last 7 years. Amy is passionate about creating inclusive spaces for all children and families to access the learning and community that Music Together classes have to offer.

Jared is a Music Together dad of two young children. As owner of Sustained Music School, he teaches private lessons in multiple instruments to beginning through advanced students of all ages. Jared graduated with his Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from San Jose State University. As a composer, he writes and records string arrangements for local bands. He also writes folk-rock songs with his sister as Bird and Willow, and experimental dream pop with Portland band, Starover Blue. As a music teacher, Jared knows firsthand the benefit of developmentally appropriate early exposure to musical play.

Laurel is a singer-songwriter, composer and educator. As owner of All Day Music, she teaches piano, voice, composition and recording. After studying music and early childhood education, she graduated from Northern Arizona University and moved to Portland for its vibrant music scene. She has performed and recorded with many local and international projects and has released three albums of original compositions. Laurel is passionate about bringing musical opportunities to children and loves the experience of guiding families towards connection through music.
